Filmmaker Testimonials 2025

The festival has made a profound impact on the filmmakers who participated. Here are a few reflections from some of the talented artists:

  • Safoi Babana-Hampton (USA): “This is one of my favorite festivals, and I was honored to share my film here this year because its mission resonates with my long-standing interest and commitment to turning art into a tool for imagining and building more peaceful, connected, and just worlds.”
  • Ben Flore (Netherlands): “The quality of your festival shines through in all the behind-the-scenes work. Thank you!”
  • Sarah Polhaus (Denmark): “It has been an absolute pleasure to be part of your festival. Beyond the professionalism and dedication, it is clear that this festival is driven by a pure love of film more than anything else. That is a rarity these days, so thank you.”
  • Mari SanGiovanni (USA): “I truly want to thank you and your team so much! This has been one of the best film festival experiences I’ve had, and I have attended many! I genuinely appreciate the work that goes into your videos keeping everyone informed. Cheers to you and all you do!”
  • Mark Schimmel (USA): “Being part of this inspiring festival is an honor, and I’m truly grateful for the recognition and the commitment you show to celebrating stories that uplift and unite.”
  • Semen Khanin (Ukraine): “We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Global Nonviolent Film Festival 2025. It was a true honor to have our films presented alongside so many inspiring works that promote peace, empathy, and artistic excellence. We sincerely thank you and your team for the professionalism, warmth, and dedication you bring to this remarkable festival.”
  • Richard R. Murray (USA): “Thank you for creating and presenting the Global Nonviolent Film Festival. The world needs this. Congratulations on Largo.ai’s sponsorship, which affirms the importance of your work.”
  • Chiara Cox (Philippines): “Each film was so thoughtfully introduced, not only on each day of the festival, but also by Will Espero for Daria! magazine. We were very happy just to be included and to have another platform to share the resilience and peace-loving nature of the Mangyan people, along with their little-known but centuries-old poetry. I was honored to be part of this festival and to share the platform with others who promote nonviolence through the art of film and inspire more peace in the world. As Filipinos say: Mabuhay!”
  • Sam Joseph (UK): “I loved the introduction of the films each day, and thank you for sharing my film with the world; I am honored.”
  • Marek Wojtasik (Poland): “You’re running a wonderful festival. You provide incredible promotion for the participating films, making your festival one of the best in the world. The idea of ‘nonviolence’ responds to the raging tragedies in numerous wars (Ukraine, Gaza). I’m proud that my team has been recognized by you.”
  • Kevin Romano-Huhn (Canada): “Daria and Bruno are sensational! From the first point of contact to the closing of the event, they did an amazing job recognizing and highlighting the filmmakers.”
  • Brad Mays (USA): “Thanks to the indefatigable commitment of Daria and Bruno, we are all profoundly enriched by this amazing event!”
  • Tilo Wondollek (Germany): “Thank you, Daria and Bruno, for this wonderfully inspiring festival. May it spread all these great messages around the globe.”
  • Dr. Teresa Mular (USA): “Congratulations to the entire team for the great festival you’ve run this year. It was fabulous! I was mesmerized, haunted in a beautiful way, and profoundly touched by the film ‘The Last Dollhouse.’ What a golden treasure this is. Kudos for selecting this film for your superb festival, and thanks for the great job you do for so many around the world!”

Over its 14 years, including a successful online transition since 2016, the festival has become a vital platform for filmmakers worldwide, emphasizing themes of empathy and compassion while providing quality entertainment for all audiences.
